I’ve used countless browser shortcuts over the years, but Ctrl+Shift+D is still my favorite – How-To Geek

Pressing Ctrl+Shift+D in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge saves every open tab in your current window as a new bookmark folder.

How It Works

  • Single Window Capture: It gathers all the active tabs in your current browser window. It ignores other separate open windows.
  • Naming Prompt: A small box appears asking you to type a name for the new folder.
  • Folder Location: You can choose where to put this new folder in your existing bookmark list or subfolders.
  • Mac Equivalent: On Apple computers, use Cmd+Shift+D instead of Ctrl+Shift+D.

    When to Use It

    • Research Projects: Group a large cluster of research tabs together before closing the window.
    • Fast Cleanup: Quickly clear a cluttered browser screen when you need to shut down your computer.
    • Restoring Later: Open all saved bookmarks at once later by right-clicking the folder and choosing Open all tabs.

    This Week’s Tip or Trick

You can quickly change the zoom and text size in almost any web browser by holding down the Ctrl key (or Command on a Mac) and rolling your mouse wheel
    How It Works
    • Zoom In: Hold Ctrl and scroll your mouse wheel up to enlarge everything.
    • Zoom Out: Hold Ctrl and scroll your mouse wheel down to make everything smaller.
    • Reset Size: Press Ctrl + 0 to return the page to its normal, default size.
If your mouse does not have a scroll wheel, you can press Ctrl + + (plus) to zoom in or Ctrl + – (minus) to zoom out.
