The Android, Apple, mobile operating systems each have app stores where you can, download, and install apps. You have to use the app store that supports your device’s operating system. To install apps from the store, You'll to set up an account, and have to provide a credit card number if you’re going to download an app that isn’t free.

Google Chrome extensions are programs installed into Chrome to change or augment the browser's functionality. They can add new features to Chrome or change the behavior of the browser itself to make it more convenient for the user.

Some functions that a Google Chrome extension can add to Chrome are. Blocking ads, optimizing memory usage, password management, 2-factor helper, and protect privacy.

Extensions offer lots of extra functionality so that you can perform tasks easier or get more out of the websites you visit.

Unfortunately, while most Chrome extensions are beneficial, some developers create extensions that negatively modify the behavior of Chrome. For example, adware developers may install Chrome extensions without your approval that inserts advertisements on to web pages you're viewing. These extensions may change the search provider, change the new tab page, or hijack your homepage. You should always remove extensions you did not install yourself.

  • Some apps offer their basic versions for free if you like the app enough you might upgrade to a paid version.
  • Some apps allow you to buy more features within the app itself and billed through the app store. Most devices have settings that allow you to block in-app purchases.
  • Some apps are offered free by a company to access their services, banking, shopping, hotel booking, ride apps. 
  • Many apps are a form of advertising.
